Greetings to you all, St. Andrew the Apostle! I am so happy to be back from my vacation and with you all again. Over the last several weeks, I was able to visit with my family and spend some much-needed time with those I love whom I do not see very often. During my time, and especially at family meals, I was able to reflect on the immense benefit of family. As you all know, I suffered the loss of my parents at a young age and lived as an orphan with my siblings and close family growing up. This, naturally, is one of the many reasons why I am committed to supporting those young ones who find themselves in similar situations, especially through initiatives like E3 Africa and Grow Haiti's Children.

February 23 Weekly Reflection

Adults/Teens: Are we truly up for the challenge that Jesus has given us today? Are we willing to go as far as our Savior did to show the world the kind of love our Heavenly Father has for us? Ask God to open your heart this week as He makes radical changes in your life, if you allow Him to.

Take a moment to reflect on Jesus and His presence in your life. Pray together, aloud, the Our Father.

Children: Jesus tells us today that we need to be honest and direct with others. He says that when we hurt others or lie to them, we hurt ourselves, too. God has given us commandments to live by and it is up to us to do all we can and obey him. God loves us and wants us to live a happy life and when we love others, we will be happy and close to Him.

Take a moment to reflect on Jesus and His presence in your life. Pray together, aloud, the Our Father.

Take a moment to reflect on Jesus and His presence in your life. Pray together, aloud, the Our Father.

Adults/Teens: How awesome it was for Simeon and Anna to recognize Jesus as the Christ as soon as they saw Him! And yet, Simeon tells Mary that many will not recognize Him and that it will be a source of great frustration. Today we have the opportunity to recognize Christ within our midst, just as Simeon and Anna did 2000 years ago. Christ is here; present with us in the Eucharist, in the Word, and in our priest as God's representative. Let's glorify Him on this day of Christ's Presentation!
